Designer and Creator
I’ve been sewing for as long as I can remember. My mum passed down her sewing tips & tricks and my granny taught me how to knit. These life skills have been the backbone of my creative path as I have continued to teach myself new skills.
Loving art during high school I went on to earn a BA Hons in Design and Craft and then a Postgraduate Diploma in Textile Design, where I spent time working with a knitwear design company. I then had the fantastic opportunity to work for a fashion company in Tokyo, Japan. After returning to the UK I designed men’s, ladies, and childrenswear for several major UK high-street fashion retailers.
Later I completed a PGCE, a post graduate qualification to teach design to secondary school students. After having kids of my own I have continued to create, design and learn as a hobby. My goal now is to continue celebrating creativity, running workshops and teaching people the gift of sewing. I currently work as an instructor at Needlework, Hamilton and also run classes from my home in Oakville.
